“Solomons
Island is a great cruising destination located at the mouth of the
Patuxent River in southern Calvert County, Maryland. We stayed at
Solomons Yachting Center on the site of the former Town Center
Marina. The new owners had cruising yachtsmen and women in mind
when they planned the renovations of this top notch marine
facility and it shows. First of all, if you’ve ever gone cruising
for an extended period of time, one of the things you crave most
is a hot shower and a private bathroom. Well, the facilities at
Solomons Yachting Center definitely fit the bill with seven
separate, private shower/bathroom suites. The dockage itself is
superb with brand new, state-of-the-art floating dock slips, each
with 40’ finger piers. The facility offers high speed internet
access and cable TV in the clubhouse…and beautifully landscaped
picnic areas. But with all these great amenities, the best thing
about Solomons Yachting Center was the service.
